Bristol Riverside Theatre offers ArtRageous summer camp, with meals, free to Bristol-area at-risk youth, thanks to donations from community supporters

A free, four-week summer arts camp primarily for at-risk children and teens in Lower Bucks County is getting a boost this year from Penn Community Bank.

Bucks County’s leading independent, mutual financial organization is proud to donate $5,000 to ArtRageous, a summer camp program hosted by Bristol Riverside Theatre. The donation will ensure that the popular camp, which is filled to capacity this summer, can continue to be offered free of charge for Bristol-area youngsters, most of whom come from economically disadvantaged homes.

“Support from community partners such as Penn Community Bank is vital to allow us to continue to offer ArtRageous,” said Anne S. Kohn, Managing Director of Bristol Riverside Theatre. “We are grateful to our donors for helping us to offer arts enrichment programs to kids who really benefit from them.”

The Bucks County theater has produced the ArtRageous program for several years. While the focus of the camp is to give Bucks County children the chance to dance, study acting, write and perform poetry, learn stage combat, and create their own performances, the goal is to help students build confidence, practice positive communication skills, and learn to work together while broadening their horizons.

“Bristol Riverside Theatre is an important resource for Bucks County,” said Penn Community Bank President and CEO Jeane Vidoni Coyle. “We are thrilled to support the theater and enable its dedicated professionals to offer Bristol-area kids exciting new arts opportunities that they might not otherwise be able to experience.”

The 2017 ArtRageous summer camp runs from July 10 through Aug. 3. On August 2, students will be able to share their work with family and friends in two performances. The performances are at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. To learn more, visit the organization’s website at http://www.brtstage.org/artrageous/.
