Barbes started his career at 84 Lumber as a management trainee in New Jersey in 2000, working his way up to be a manager, to an area manager in Cleveland, and then to an area manager in Northern Virginia/DC, where he led one of 84 Lumber’s most profitable regions. As VP of National Sales, Barbes is responsible for scaling his success in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. regions and bringing consistency to the company’s sales process across the country.

“My job will be pretty straightforward – keep 84 Lumber connected to the national builder’s needs at every single level of the organization,” explained Barbes. “I’m excited to take what I’ve learned at the regional level and apply that to our national sales team.”

With a new recruitment campaign launching earlier this month, new stores opening up across the country and an increased demand for new homes, Barbes will be focusing his attention on continuing these upward trends.
