Rebecca Stehle

Rebecca Stehle, Supplier Quality and Development Manager for MSA Safety (NYSE: MSA) has been recognized by the Manufacturing Institute as one of 130 U.S. women who are making meaningful contributions to the manufacturing industry. Ms. Stehle will accept her Emerging LeaderSTEP Ahead Award at a formal reception and gala held in Washington D.C. on April 20.

"All of us at MSA are extraordinarily proud of Becky for this well-deserved recognition," said Anne Herman, Vice President, Global Operational Excellence and Chief Customer Officer for MSA. "Her dedication to our customers, and her commitment to being a leader and mentor within her peer group, are qualities to emulate. I'm glad to know a program such as the STEP Awards exists to honor the leading women in manufacturing, like Becky, who are making a difference and empowering our next generation of female manufacturing talent." Ms. Herman, who joined MSA in 1984, was a 2013 STEP Ahead Award honoree.

Ms. Stehle, who works at MSA's headquarters campus in Cranberry Township, Pa., began her career at the company as a New Product Development Engineer in 2008. In 2012, she was promoted to Supplier Quality Engineer, where she spearheaded a new program to enhance global supply chain quality and consistency. In addition to her MSA responsibilities, Becky volunteers for the American Heart Association and Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh.

Becky also participates in two MSA professional organizations – one devoted entirely to advancing women in the workforce and the other to coaching young professionals – and mentors colleagues in her spare time. She received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

The STEP Awards – created by The Manufacturing Institute in 2012 – promote the role of women in manufacturing through recognition, research and the deployment of best practices that help organizations attract, advance and retain strong female talent.

On April 20, The Manufacturing Institute and its STEP Ahead initiative partners will recognize the 130 honorees of the STEP Awards at a reception in Washington, D.C. The STEP Awards program will highlight each honoree's story, including their leadership and accomplishments in manufacturing.
