Ramboll Environ, a leading global environmental and health sciences consulting firm serving a diverse industrial, financial, legal and government client base, recently expanded its presence into western Pennsylvania with the hiring of Manager Thomas Samarco and Senior Associate Tracy Moore to lead the firm’s new Pittsburgh office.

Samarco and Moore bring more than 40 years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance to the firm, with expertise in a broad range of industrial sectors, including consumer adhesives, adhesives and coating manufacturing, specialty metals, foundries, primary and secondary steel, chemical, petrochemical and general manufacturing.

“Tracy and I are excited to spearhead Ramboll Environ’s move into the Pittsburgh region,” said Samarco (pictured left). “Our extensive experience collaborating as a team positions us to hit the ground running as we extend the reach of some of the firm’s foundational services and bring the firm even closer to existing clients in the region.”

Samarco and Moore have recently completed oil and gas projects in the Appalachian Basin, and have assisted numerous clients within the exploration and production, gathering, distribution, and natural gas storage and transmission sectors. The team is well versed in air quality permitting, regulatory compliance (NSPS, NESHAP, MACT and Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule), auditing, and emissions development and tracking.

Samarco’s background also includes work in environmental emergency response planning, erosion and sediment control planning, stormwater pollution prevention plan management and pipeline and storage tank permitting. Moore also brings extensive experience in air dispersion modeling and data management and collection systems.
