Montgomery County attorney, Lori K. Shemtob, President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), recently presented at a continuing legal education seminar. Her topic was the discoverability of attorney-expert communications in Pennsylvania. She presented at a program sponsored by the AAML Annual Meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia in July of 2016. She has been a fellow of the AAML for 13 years, a national honor bestowed currently on only 66 lawyers in Pennsylvania.

During this seminar, Ms. Shemtob presented tactics on how to manage attorney-expert communications in light of the revised Pennsylvania Rule of Civil Procedure 4003.5 and the Barrick V. Holy Spirit Hospital Pennsylvania Supreme Court case ruling on this issue.

According to Ms. Shemtob, “Lawyers must know when their communications with experts are confidential, so they can property prepare their cases and experts for trial.”

Her practice focuses on family law, which includes divorce, equitable distribution, alimony, custody, child and spousal support, prenuptial agreements, property settlement and other family law matters. She is also a family lawyer mediator.
