Offit Kurman, a leading firm in legal technology training, is pleased to announce that Learning and Development Manager Tony Gerdes spoke as a featured panelist at ILTACON, the International Legal Technology Association’s conference in National Harbor, MD.
The International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) provides its members with peer-reviewed educational programming, publications, and networking opportunities centered on technology in the legal profession. The association’s annual conference, ILTACON, brings together thousands of legal support professionals for four days of keynote presentations, roundtables, panel discussions, interactive education sessions, and more.
Tony Gerdes, who directs Offit Kurman’s Learning and Development department, spoke on two panel discussions at this year’s ILTACON, alongside professionals such as technology consultant D. Casey Flaherty, e-discovery specialist Janice Jaco, and LTC4 founding members Robert Karwic and Bonnie Beuth. Topics of discussion included e-discovery, legal technology audits, and generating buy-in for technology. Mr. Gerdes also discussed the role of vendors in training attorneys and measuring program effectiveness.
In his position at Offit Kurman, Mr. Gerdes has led the development of Offit Kurman University (OKU), which offers online skill enhancement and professional growth courses for attorneys and support staff. OKU offers LTC4 Certification in five training areas: Cybersecurity, Managing Documents and Emails, Time and Billing, Working with Legal Documents, and Data Reports and Exhibits. Offit Kurman is not only an industry leader in program options certified by LTC4 (the Legal Technology Core Competencies Certification Coalition), but the firm was the first globally to earn certification for cybersecurity training.
